Abstract
In this study, we theoretically investigate the performance of multimode condensation on a straight pin fin. Axial steady-state temperature distributions along the fin are numerically evaluated. The theoretical results reveal that when transition condensation has incorporated, the fin efficiency can exceed unity, which is not attainable for a conventional fin. Furthermore, the present study has suggested a new fin design methodology.
