    Abstract

Lead ziconate titanate/nanosize Zinc oxide (PZT/nano-ZnO) composites were prepared via ultrasonic mixing of PZT and nano-ZnO powders. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize the morphology and structure of the composites. The effect of nano-ZnO addition on the dielectric and polarization hysteresis loop behavior of PZT was investigated. The result showed that nano-ZnO fillers with whisker-like can be observed in the PZT- based ceramic composites. The composites exhibit distinct dielectric properties and polarization hysteresis loops.
