Monte Carlo simulation of a two-dimensional random rough surface using the sparse-matrix flat-surface iterative approach

Research output: Journal Publications and ReviewsRGC 21 - Publication in refereed journalpeer-review

Abstract

The exact solution of scattering by a two-dimensional random rough surface (three-dimensional scattering problem) with moderate RMS height and slopes is calculated using a new numerical method called the sparse-matrix flat-surface iterative approach. Comparison is also made with the second-order Kirchhoff approximation.
