    Abstract

A hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna using aperture-coupling is studied both theoretically and experimentally. The exact magnetic field Green's function due to the equivalent magnetic current in the slot is presented, and moment method is used to solve the magnetic current from which the broadside TE111 mode input impedance of the antenna configuration is evaluated. The effect of the slot's position on the input impedance is studied, and reasonable agreement between theory and experiment is obtained.
