Abstract
A method is evaluated for estimating average specific resistance of cake, which avoids the necessity of mesuring the liquid invasion volume in rectangular capillary suction apparatus (RCSA) experiments. The liquid saturation under the inner cell can be estimated on the basis of the wet front distance and capillary suction time (CST) data of the transition point. Furthermore, the average specific resistance of cake can be calculated without the liquid invasion volume data. The proposed method correlates sufficiently with the vacuum filtration data.
