Abstract

For two-dimensional photonic crystals involving anisotropic media and circular cylinders, we derive analytic solutions in the unit cells and use them to construct the Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DtN) maps. For triangular lattices, we also develop new eigenvalue problem formulations for band structure analysis that produce smaller matrices.
