Abstract

An omnidirectional circularly polarized (CP) dielectric resonator (DR) antenna (DRA) is presented for mirror integration. A cylindrical DR is sandwiched between a mirror and a ground. Excited by an axial probe, it operates in its fundamental TM01δ mode with omnidirectional radiations. Adding four slant metal strips on the surface of the cylindrical DR will obtain CP radiations. Simulated results show that the proposed antenna a good CP antenna, having an overlapped bandwidth of 4.9% and covering the entire 2.4-GHz WLAN band. With a piece of paper, the antenna can appear as a good mirror.
