Abstract
A small wideband circularly polarised stacked folded patch antenna with an L-probe feed is presented. It consists of two stacked folded square patches, an L-probe and a ground plane. It has measured impedance bandwidth (RL ≤ -10 dB) of 17.9%, axial ratio bandwidth (AR ≤ 3 dB) of 9 and peak gain of 7.3 dBic. Both simulated and measured results are reported, and they are in good agreement. The size reduction of this antenna is 81.5% in comparison with the conventional half-wave patch antenna.
