Abstract

A small bow-tie dual patch antenna has been designed successfully. Compare with a conventional single layer patch antenna with the same projection area, the resonant frequency is reduced by 56%. The bandwidth is 10% and the gain is 2 dBi. The 3dB beamwidth for the E-plane is 81 degrees and for the H-plane is 78 degrees and the cross-polarization is -15 dB.
