Abstract

This paper is concerned with the performance analysis of the maximum eigenmode beamforming (MEB) scheme with equal power allocation (EPA) over practically coded multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiple-access channels (MACs). Both the scenarios of perfect and imperfect channel state information (CSI) at the transmitters (CSIT) are considered. Analytical and numerical results show that MEB with EPA can achieve significant power savings and is less sensitive to CSIT error than other alternatives. © 2012 IEEE.
