Abstract
A 2 × 2 aperture-coupled magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna array with linear polarization is presented for millimeter-wave communication systems. The substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) feed structures can be implemented into the two substrates below the antenna elements successfully. Good impedance bandwidth of 27.6% for reflection coefficient less than -10 dB, stable gain around 7 dBi over the operating band are obtained. Moreover, with the help of the ME-dipole sub-array, a 4 × 4 multi-beam array that can generate sixteen radiation beams is realized.
