Microwave meta-devices: Theory, design and applications

Research output: Conference PapersRGC 33 - Other conference paper

Abstract

Since the initial developments on metamaterials and metasurfaces, microwave electromagnetics has served as a fertile ground for (a) demonstrating novel physics and (b)developing meta-devices with disruptive applications in wireless communication and imaging. In this talk we will overview a few historic developments in the field of microwave metamaterials and related devices. The author will then discuss recent works in his group, using the Huygens metasurface and related ideas, to (i) demonstrate novel discoveries in physics, (ii) design new antennas, (iii) realize practical metalenses for microwave, mm-wave and THz waves.
