Abstract
A cylindrical dielectric resonator is placed on top of a circular microstrip antenna. The resonant frequency and the input impedance of the antenna are altered. The bandwidth of the microstrip antenna is nearly doubled by the top loading. These changes are dependent on the displacement between the resonator and the patch.
