Abstract
Theoretical and semi-theoretical models, which incorporate thermocapillary driven flow in the macrolayer and evaporation at the vapor-liquid interfaces for pool boiling near the critical heat flux, have been developed. The comparison of the model predictions with experimental measurements favors the new heat transfer mechanism proposed in this paper.
