Abstract

The three-phase wireless charging system has the advantages of uniform magnetic fields, compact coil structures, and less output current ripple. In this paper, a novel three-phase wireless EV charging system based on a quasi-Z-source neutral point clamp (NPC) inverter is proposed to obtain a wide input voltage range with both voltage boost and buck abilities. The inverter operates with non-shoot-through mode and shoot-through mode and uses a specific space vector sequence to regulate the output power. The system model and modulation method are illustrated in detail. Furthermore, the working principle and magnetic feature of the three-phase coil system are simulated by finite element analysis. Finally, circuit simulations are conducted to prove the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed system. © 2023 IEEE.
