Abstract
This account begins with a report on the photophysical responses to pH exhibited by the luminescent chelating bis(carbene) platinum(II) complexes [(C10H21N4)Pt(CN)(CNtBu)] (1) and [(C10H21N4)Pt(CNtBu) 2]+ (2), and concludes with an overview of recent work by our group regarding luminescent platinum and rhenium derivatives bearing metal-carbon multiple bonds. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
