Abstract

Discover the Heritage of Hong Kong Lighthouses
For as long as they have been standing, lighthouses have been a lifesaving presence to seafarers all across the globe. However, with satellite and GPS technology, lighthouses are slowly fading into a shadow of the past.
The skyscraper capital of the world, Hong Kong serves as one of the busiest ports across the globe. The lighthouses placed all around the city was an indisputable influence on the significance of sea navigation. Without lighthouses such as the Cape Collinson and Kap Shui Mun lights, maritime progress in Asia would not be where it is today.
Join the City University of Hong Kong and its Lighthouse Heritage Research Connections project team on their quest to shed light on some of the earliest guiding towers of the Pearl of the Orient.
