    Abstract

It is reported the study of cloud in Chengdu with Mie lidar. Based on the lidar data, the extinction coefficient was inverted by using Klett inversion method (ameliorated). Then, the information of cloud height, cloud thickness and optical depth are gotten. The variation of the cloud-base height and cloud thickness in different weather is researched. With the help of lidar, some important information about cloud in Chengdu was obtained and a further analysis was made. For example, low altitude clouds tended to appear in the area and them were observed particularly in winter. This is relevant to the special position of Chengdu.
