Abstract
Our understanding of the risk factors, economic impact and pathophysiological mechanisms of common skin diseases is improving in dairy cattle. This article summarizes and discusses it in relation to environmental lesions (i.e., hock and knee lesions), dermatophytosis, udder cleft dermatitis, and viral infections of the teats (e.g., bovine papillomavirus, pseudocowpox and bovine ulcerative mammillitis).
