Abstract

This paper presents research that was carried out on 7 ISO standards documents from 3 ISO committees to determine if the terminology used in the documents adheres to the drafting requirements stipulated by ISO. Results demonstrate that the requirements are not adhered to. The research concludes that there are significant terminological problems in ISO standards and that these problems may be large enough to negatively impact the implementability of standards.
