Abstract

The once-in-a-century pandemic, COVID-19, arrived in 2019. As of the end of April 2021, there are more than 149 million infected cases and 3.15 million deaths worldwide. Many countries are hit with more than one wave of infection. At this time, India is the most severely affected. The deadly second wave has overwhelmed hospitals in India and is sending families hunting for oxygen for their loved ones that are infected. Such miseries and suffering should be and can be avoided. What are the factors impacting the spread of the pandemic? What technologies can be used to control and manage the pandemic? This research investigates the effects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and healthcare expenditures on the COVID-19 pandemic.
