Abstract

Carbon dioxide, i.e. CO2, is the most important greenhouse gas and considered to contribute significantly to climate change and global warming. Besides the reduction of CO2 emissions, there is also a high potential to integrate CO2 in terms of a carbon conversion cycle to products using it as the carbon source. This book deals with the effects of CO2 on climate change and global warming and with the whole process chain from CO2 separation, purification and conversion to chemicals and fuels. CO2 which is a final product can also be considered as an initial material for product formation like chemicals and fuels like in nature where CO2 is used from the atmosphere to produce with water and sunlight sugar and oxygen by photosynthesis. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.
