Abstract

Criminal law and justice systems across the world are tasked with crafting and enforcing the rules and mechanisms by which the state ascribes responsibility. The evaluations and practices of responsibility for crime have a profound impact on the subject who is charged and condemned, and on the society to which they belong. The construct at the core of these evaluations and practices – criminal responsibility – forms the subject matter of this collection.
