Abstract

This interview was conducted by Louisa Wei (lw), a professor at the City Uni- versity of Hong Kong, with Hu Luoqing (hl), a veteran female Trotskyist who joined Socialist Youth League in 1949 and was imprisoned in 1952. The interview provides details of Hu’s own suffering in prison and out of prison as well as vivid memories of her second husband, Xie Shan, a Trotskyist poet, and of other prom- inent Trotskyists, such as Wang Fanxi and Zheng Chaolin.
