Abstract

In this study, 0. 51 mm thick specimens of a Mo-0. 5 Ti-0. 082 r-0. 02 C alloy were exposed to low pressure oxidizing environments at 1098 and 1273 K. The tensile properties of both oxidized and heat treated specimens were determined at temperatures up to 1589 K. The kintetics of internal oxidation and change in mechanical properties are discussed in terms of interstitial absorption and precipitation of various forms of oxide.
