    Abstract

Measurement system for lubricant film measurement in conformal contacts is described. The lubricated contact consists of a precision polished slider flat and a glass disc with a Cr/Si layer. Good correlation was observed within the experiment and the theory. The SiO2 slider surface and a steel slider surface, which have different lubricant affinity, produced different film thickness. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the World Tribology Congress (Kyoto, Japan 9/6-11/209).
