Intelligent voltage regulation scheme of active distribution networks with renewable energy integration

Research output: Chapters, Conference Papers, Creative and Literary WorksRGC 12 - Chapter in an edited book (Author)peer-review

Abstract

Voltage regulation plays an important role in maintaining modern power systems reliable and secure operations. A distributed voltage control scheme for distribution networks with high renewable penetration is proposed and the numerical simulations are conducted on modified IEEE 15 -bus and 43 -bus radial distribution systems to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The simulation results show that (1) the proposed voltage regulation strategy can well adjust the BESSs' outputs while maintaining the bus voltages within the secure range while considering renewable energy and load uncertainties; and (2) D-ADMM algorithm has a strong capability for performing global optimization and has faster convergence ability than the original ADMM algorithm.
