N2 - This paper addresses the problem of using different sensors in filter design that can simultaneously satisfy multiple specifications. A novel approach is taken in the design paradigm that integrates the sensing strategy with the filter design, which improves the filtering performance. An application to the estimation of the endpoint vibration rate of a single-link flexible manipulator is presented with experimental verifications.
