Abstract
Both the glass forming ability and thermal stability of the Zr65-x-yAl7.5Cu17.5N10 amorphous alloy can be improved by the appropriate addition of Si and B. The metalloid elements would extend the nucleation stage and result in more small crystalline particles. The basic crystallization kinetics for the Si/B containing alloys is still similar to the base alloy, but would proceed at a higher temperature or a more sluggisn speed.
