Impression Machine

Research output: Creative and Literary Works in Non - textual FormRGC 44 - Performance and participation in exhibits

Abstract

Impression Machine is a robotic system performing computational kinetic photography – a long-exposure photography technique for producing three-dimensional light patterns by tightly synchronizing the camera motion and display content at every time instant. In this installation, several three-dimensional geometries depicted in Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus are dissected into slices and reconstructed in long exposures.
