Abstract
Although the 'anaphylactic' role of IgG4 antibodies is still questionable, elevated levels have been associated with increased tolerance to foreign antigens, e.g. parasites, malignancies and allergens during specific immunotherapy. A quantitative, simple and rapid assay allows determination of allergen specific IgG4 levels and helps monitoring immunotherapy in allergic patients.
