Abstract

An I-shape resonator is proposed for band notch filter design in this paper. The design is based on an open-stub resonator with gap coupling, which can be optimized to achieve high Q-factor. The resonator can be cascaded to improve suppression or multi-band isolation. Several cascaded responses of the resonator have been investigated. A notch filter has been designed using the I-shape resonator together with defected ground plane technique, where it isolates the wireless local-area network bands. ©2008 IEEE.
