    Abstract

Drawing on critical Asian American and cross-cultural perspectives in this autobiographical narrative, I recover and reclaim personal narratives to understand identity, culture, and sense of belonging. These acts of recovery and reclamations are empowering acts of giving voice to a history that has been silenced and lost to our community. The narratives are inspired by the historical events of the Asian American movement that fought for social justice and equality in the United States during the era of the civil rights movement. I critically examine my narratives, the historical narrative of Asian Americans, and view the classroom as a site for transformation and social justice.
