Abstract

This paper is concerned with the efficient feedback of the channel state information (CSI) in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. A hybrid transform coding (HTC) scheme is proposed by exploiting the frequency and time correlation of CSI. An upper bound for the overhead-distortion performance of HTC is derived. Numerical results show that, compared with the available alternatives, the HTC scheme can achieve higher compression efficiency. © 2011 IEEE.
