Abstract
Human Trafficking is a global phenomenon and no country in the world can claim itself to be free from this evil as akin to modern day slavery. It posed serious challenges for India too where every year women and girls in thousands in number are trafficked. India despite being party to several international and regional instruments having legal obligation to combat trafficking failed to address it effectively. India failure to address the issues of trafficking effectively was the outcome of several challenges which inadequately addresses.
