Higher-order unstructured domain decomposition method for Navier-Stokes equations

Research output: Journal Publications and ReviewsRGC 21 - Publication in refereed journalpeer-review

Abstract

The unstructured domain decomposition method for the Navier-Stokes equations is described. The solution domain is covered with a union of subdomains of arbitrary shapes with arbitrary (multiple) overlaps. Field equations are discretized using fourth-order compact scheme for curviliner coordinate systems. Blending functions that define global fourth-order accurate solution are introduced. The global solution is used to transfer information between the subdomains. Various numerical examples confirm the fourth-order accuracy of the results. The algorithm is well suited for parallel implementations.
