Abstract

This paper presents analytical results for handoff probability for PCS networks under realistic mobility assumptions that the call holding time and the cell residence time are all generally distributed. Easily computable formulae are obtained for the case when the Laplace transforms of density functions of the call holding time and cell residence time are rational functions.
