Guttural Pouch Mycosis: An Incidental Finding

Abstract

This case report describes a case of guttural pouch mycosis discovered as part of an examination of respiratory noise at exercise. No clinical signs of mycotic infection of the guttural pouches were present. This case is discussed in relation to reported cases in the literature and also the association of left recurrent laryngeal neuropathy and the likelihood of it having been caused by the mycotic infection. The article serves as a review of the literature and also a discussion of the clinical findings specific to this case.
