Abstract

Nd : Gd0.8La0.2VO4 single crystal with zircon structure was successfully grown by the Czochralski method, and the lattice constants are a = b = 0.7239(1) nm, c = 0.6360(1) nm. The polarization absorption spectra were measured from 400 to 850 nm, the polarization emission spectra from 1053 to 1075 nm are measured. 948 mW power laser at 1.06 μm was achieved with 1 mm thick Nd : Gd0.8La0.2VO4 crystal sample when pumped by a 1.9 W cw laser diode. © 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
