    Abstract

Global sourcing is one of the key links of the global supply chain. Supplier selection is one of the fundamental activities in global sourcing. Typically, buyers review all quotations and select a supplier based on the best information on hand. The result could come from the cost, the relationship, or convenience. The evaluation is not comprehensive because buyers do not have all the supplier performance data to compare in one location. They need to review the quote supplier by supplier, and this process is manual and time consuming. This research analyzes the dollar store supplier selection decision making process in order to suggest improvement to this process, and to develop and test a DSS for supporting buyers or decision makers in dollar stores, which provides objectivity, consistency, efficiency, continuity and adaptability in supplier selection decisions, using design science research methodology.
