Abstract
A generalized semi-blind channel estimator for OFDM using PSK signaling was proposed by the authors. It gives a significant performance gain over pilot-aided channel estimators and other semi-blind method. However, this algorithm does not work satisfactorily for the signaling of non-constant modulus. In this paper, we modify the algorithm to make it applicable to TCM-OFDM systems with biased-PSK-subset partitioning. The TCM-OFDM with 16-QAM is used for performance evalution. Simulation results show that the generalized semi-blind channel estimation gives a significant gain over pilot-aided channel estimator and its PSK counterpart. © 2006 IEEE.
