Abstract

Fortune-telling is a practice of deciphering one’s life code by analyzing the interaction among heaven, earth and human beings. It is also a form of folk religion shared by a large population mirroring the social images of women. From cultural and historical perspectives, this paper will examine the divination of marriage and career in two different traditions - astrology in the Western and bazi in China.
