N2 - We developed a headspace gas chromatography system (GC-MOX) composed of a modular metal oxide gas sensor, assembled from a commercially available sensor, a tube of temperature-controlled adsorption polymer 2,6-diphenylphenol (Tenax TA), an air pump, and a solenoid valve. The system was shown to discriminate up to four volatile organic compounds (VOC) species by the elution volume between Tenax TA and VOCs. The system was shown to record the sensor response for at least 200 consecutive rounds of exposure to VOCs. The embedded heating capacity was shown to be effective in restoring the sensor sensitivity by 1.8-fold. © 2023 IEEE.
