Abstract

For the fully developed pipeline flow, if the radial time-averaged velocity and radial pressure gradient can be ignored, the time-averaged Navier-Stokes equations can be simplified into a diffusion equation. Based on this, the Fully Developed Model (FDM) was proposed. The adiabatic FDM was applied to the simulation of the flow field in a rod bundle subchannel and got results consistent with that from the commercial CFD code. The short time calculation of FDM makes its application in system analysis codes becoming possible. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd.
