Abstract

Nanostructured Al and Ti-based alloys have been processed by severe plastic torsion straining (SPTS). It is shown that SPTS under high pressure of these quenched alloys results in refinement of their microstructures to grain sizes of 70-100 nm and leads to formation of supersaturated solid solutions. Structural changes during heating of the obtained nanostructured alloys are investigated.
