Abstract
Using the electromagnetic perturbation theory, it is shown that the linearly polarized TEMl modes (l > 0) predicted by conventional methods are not the resonant modes in an open resonator. Instead, two other series of high-order modes are proposed with improved accuracy in resonant frequencies. © 1984 IEEE
