Abstract

Direct UV writing technique was used for fabrication of long-period gratings (LPG) on an ion-exchanged waveguide. Ion-exchanged waveguides were fabricated on the BK-7 glass. The output of the waveguide was coupled to a single mode fiber. Output signal of the waveguide was then measured by an optical spectrum analyzer. LPGs with strong rejection dip of 22 dB and a rejection band of 12 nm were obtained from an ion-exchanged glass channel waveguide.
