    Abstract

We report a feasible opto-electrokinetic approach to realize rapidly controllable single cell screening and isolating culture in the extracellular environment. A nonuniform AC electric filed makes cells separate and sort by size, shape and viability. The DC electric fields-based dynamically forms the alginate hydrogel in 3D on the top of the organic photoconductive material titanium oxide phthalocyanine. The trapped cells can be cultured in the 3D alginate hydrogel pattern.
