Abstract

In this paper, a procedure for system decomposition is developed for decentralized control systems. Optimal input-output pairing techniques are used to rearrange a large system into a structure that is closer to the block-diagonal decentralized form. The problem is transformed into a block-assignment problem. A new and efficient genetic algorithm based on experimental design theoretic is developed to solve this hard IP problem.
