Evaluation of EM Field Distribution in Automobiles

Research output: Journal Publications and ReviewsRGC 22 - Publication in policy or professional journal

Abstract

A study of the electromagnetic field distribution, from wireless communication devices inside an automobile is presented here. Owing to the requirements of large grid sizes of both the human body and the automobile for such analysis, a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used, together with a statistical approach for an effective evaluation of the electromagnetic (EM) field in this semi-enclosed metallic enclosure with irregular boundaries. The SAR of a human body with a mobile phone inside the automobile is also presented.
